Born in the heart of England, at the start of the musical revolution, Derek has music in his soul.  After visiting a nightclub at the age of seventeen, he knew he wanted to be a DJ.  Two years later he was DJing at that very club.  His love of music has been a constant throughout his life.  With a résumé which includes:  DJing for England's "Business Man of the Year," children's birthday parties, business functions, radio presenting and, of course, Weddings.  Derek has done it all.  For the two years prior to moving to Lake Tahoe, he was a resident DJ at one of England's popular nightclubs, filling the club to capacity each night.  In addition he also ran his own promotion company for ten years. 

In 2002 Derek moved to America, where he followed his love for music, and starting LAKE DJ.  In a very short time he has established himself as one of the top Wedding DJ’s in the Tahoe area.  Derek has already entertained audiences at many of the top local venues and found his skills to be in demand at events many miles from Lake Tahoe.  In 2007 Derek was elected to serve a second term as President of the South Lake Tahoe Wedding and Honeymoon Association. The Association has over 110 member businesses and individuals who are all professionals in the wedding industry.  Derek now also sits on the Board of the Nevada Wedding Association and is at present their Treasurer.

Not Just a DJ, but an event coordinator and Master of Ceremonies, Derek brings a unique ability to organize weddings and events. His diverse knowledge of music and his extensive CD collection are a product of over twenty-five years as a DJ and event planner.  This, coupled with his velvety smooth voice, quick wit, and unique talent for weaving just the right tunes together, make him truly an artist in the wedding and entertainment industry.  He is now, "An English Voice in Tahoe."
